Shevlin Park Mini Session for the Jimenez Family

I was really glad the Jimenez family signed up for a mini session last fall. It was my first time working with them, and I love how their photos came out. Both kids had such unique personalities and I made it my goal to show them in the 25 minutes I had to photograph them!

Pre-teens can be tough customers, so my goal is to immediately try to relate in some way without seeming too desperate (ha!). If all else fails I act like a super huge dork and it tends to work in my favor.

With older kids, I can explore the park a bit more. It was fun to mix in a few backdrops I don't usually get to with the toddlers and babies! The river is notoriously backlit at Shevlin, but that day I had clouds and a mobile family- so to the river we went!
