When you’re in it, pregnancy feels like an eternity, but when it’s over it feels like an instant. Our maternity sessions are a relaxed and fun and an intentional moment to document the bond you, your partner, your older kids and even your pets have with your little one.

Maternity Portrait Session: $695 with Caitlin, $595 with Cayla.

Includes: 1 hour of shooting, your choice of location in Central Oregon, 60 full resolution files, custom processing, and an online gallery.

a lifetime of love, but just 9 months of bump! let’s document it!

When I was pregnant, I swear it felt like it would never end. I was SO ready to meet my little guy, and I wouldn’t say I felt super photogenic at the time. My maternity session ended up being one of the best days of my pregnancy. I treated myself to hair and makeup and some cute outfits and went on an adventure with my husband and photographer.

Looking back, I am so glad we took the time to get these photos.

They are memories I will always cherish of a time when my son and I were so bonded and close, but I didn’t even know his name yet or what he looked like.

My maternity sessions are meant to show the bond your new family member already shares with you, your partner and other family members.

This is only the beginning.

XO,

Caitlin

FAQs

Where should we shoot?

If you don’t have a shoot location in mind already, that’s okay! We have tons of suggestions for every age group, lighting scenario, and area of Central Oregon. We’kll help you find a spot that works well for your family! There is no shortage of beautiful spots to shoot in Central Oregon, but more important than location is the people in the photos, so try not to prioritize location over your comfort or logistical needs.

What should we wear?

Great question! For expecting mamas we usually suggest they bring 2-3 outfit choices. A dress in your style and a more casual outfit is a nice contrast. There are some great websites that rent maternity clothes like Rent the Runway and Nuuly and we highly recommend checking them out!

Avoid super bright colors or intense patterns and try to pick clothes for your partner or other kids in the same color palette. Dress as appropriately for the weather as you can, it can get chilly out there in the wintertime!

What should we expect from our session?

We’ll arrive for our session at the agreed time and place about 5 minutes early so we have some time to look around. Sessions are about an hour, but it’s not usually a hard line. Some sessions take a little longer, some are a little shorter.

We will give you prompts and poses but won’t force you into anything too detailed. There are some great posing tricks for expecting mamas, but our goal is to always show the genuine bond between people, so there is some candid magic that happens too. Just come prepared to have a fun and relaxed shoot.

Should I have pro hair and makeup?

I did and don’t regret it, but 3/4 of the mamas we photograph don’t hire a pro hair and makeup artist, and they look amazing in their photos. If you can, it’s a great way to treat yourself and take some pressure off at the same time. Professional hair and makeup artists know how to get you camera ready, so if you can, go for it!

If you need any recommendations, please let us know!

When Will i receive my images?

Images will be delivered to you via online gallery within 2 weeks of your shoot, sometimes sooner, but never later. During the holidays we typically do quicker turnarounds so families can have their holiday cards sent out in time.

What is the best time of day to shoot?

Sunset is our favorite time of day to shoot, but it doesn’t work for many younger kids if this isn’t your first baby. For younger ones, we recommend shooting earlier in the morning (before 10am) for the best lighting, but we can make most times of day work.

Some locations lend themselves better to midday shoots, so we’ll talk through what locations would work best for your family’s schedule.
